Antonio Sannino (Naples 1959), lives and works between Naples and Rome.

After completing his studies, he moved to England where he worked for 10 years experimenting various painting techniques.

Back in Italy, he continues his career with a series of solo exhibitions.

His works are exhibited in galleries around the world and he has been loved by collectors and art lovers for many years.

The research of Antonio Sannino, a painter with a robust classical training, for some years, in addition to the sea seen from above in an almost abstract perspective, has begun a collection dedicated to the contemporary urban landscape: international cities, such as London, Istanbul, New York and Midtown Manhattan, are pictorially represented by the artist through the search for light and depth.

The elements that constitute the backbone of the metropolis, that is, main and secondary streets, with expertly elaborated perspectives, induce the spectator to get lost or find himself in the work itself. They are living elements that seem to give an almost dreamlike vision, thanks to the skillful transformation of the buildings into colored elements, the vitality of lights and flashes, but also the restlessness of the dark side that emerges from the shadowed areas.

In these latest works Sannino experiments with a technique that guarantees an almost pop flatness: the use of a resin capable of vitrifying the oil colors spread on an aluminum support.

The result is a thin and smooth surface that enhances the compositional depth, a sort of non-landscape, through which the artist no longer wants

represent reality, but allude to it, preferring to grasp its strongest expression.
